Trump announces 'additional major sanctions' against North Korea

President Trump announced "additional major sanctions" against North Korea on Wednesday, a day after Pyongyang tested an intercontinental ballistic missile that analysts believe could strike anywhere in the United States.
The White House said in a statement that "Trump emphasized the need for China to use all available levers to convince North Korea to end its provocations and return to the path of denuclearization," although regional expert Song Ziaojun told The Washington Post that "if China imposes heavier sanctions, that would be symbolic at best I think."
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson specified that additional sanctions, including some against "financial institutions," will be rolled out by the Treasury Department.
